An upper trough and increasing mid-level southwesterly flow are expected to affect parts of northern California and the Great Basin. Southwest winds of 10-20 mph and relative humidity of 10-15% are forecast for northeastern California and the northern Great Basin. Wind gusts from the south-southwest have already been observed in some areas, including the Independence Mountains and Jarbidge Wilderness.

Dry, southerly flow is also expected in the southern Great Basin, although marginal fuels may limit the overall fire weather threat.
