Severe weather potential is being monitored in areas near a cold front. Storms developing in this region may produce isolated strong to severe gusts this evening. A narrow axis of instability remains ahead of the front, although deep layer flow decreases in certain areas.

Temperatures in the mid to upper 80s are supporting steep low-level lapse rates. The probability of watch issuance is currently 20 percent, and a watch is considered unlikely at this time.

Further details about the severe potential and affected areas are available from the Storm Prediction Center's Mesoscale Discussion 2276.
