Tropical Storm Marie is becoming better organized, according to satellite imagery. Deep convection is developing over the surface circulation center, with cold cloud tops and a spiral band wrapping around the center. The initial intensity is currently held at 40 kt.

The atmosphere and ocean conditions are favorable for strengthening, with warm ocean temperatures, moist low- to mid-levels, and low deep-layer shear. As a result, Marie is expected to strengthen and become a hurricane by Wednesday night.
